Connect two different sizes with a custom adapter

Two ends that do not match, a tube, a post, or a fitting. Tell us both diameters and the length you need, and we plan a stepped adapter that connects them.

A stepped cylinder that connects a wide end to a narrow end.

Set your sizes

The adapter builder is not live yet. Send us your two sizes and a person plans the part with you.

What we can make

  • Connecting two different tube sizes

A stepped adapter joins two ends with different diameters into one straight run.

  • A reducer between two fitting sizes

One end wide, one end narrow, built to your two measurements and the length between them.

How it works

  1. 1Tell us the sizes listed above.
  2. 2Send your numbers to the Solution Counter.
  3. 3A person looks at what you sent and plans the part.
  4. 4You see a price before anything is printed.

What we need from you

  • The inner and outer diameter of end A
  • The inner and outer diameter of end B
  • The overall length you need, and the wall thickness
  • Whether you want a plain straight step or a barbed end

Materials

Most adapters use PLA. A part that flexes or takes some knocking around can use PETG instead.

See the full materials page

Measurements and fit

  • Measure the outer diameter of each end with a ruler across the middle.
  • Measure the inner diameter the same way, if the part fits inside something.
  • Measure the length you need between the two ends.
  • We make it to the sizes you give us.

Common questions

What sizes can an adapter connect?
Tell us both diameters and we plan the step between them. There is no fixed size list.
Can the two ends be different shapes?
Usually, yes, for round to round connections. Tell us what you are joining and we will say if it works.
How strong is a printed adapter?
It depends on the wall thickness and material. PETG holds up better than PLA under bending or repeated use.
Do you charge just to plan the part?
No. Sending your sizes and getting a plan back does not cost anything.
