It has a wide jaw with small teeth inside, built like a clothes peg. Push down on its back while the belly rests on your desk, and the jaws open wide.
Let go and the jaws close on whatever you placed between them. As the parts move, they rub together and make a low sound, somewhere between a growl and a purr. It works like a spring clip shaped like a wild cat, ready to sit on your desk or counter and hold notes, papers, or small items.
