The Single-Perimeter Rocket Plane is a cleverly engineered 3D-printable toy that uses single-wall spiral geometry for seamless, support-free printing. This design eliminates the complexity of traditional multi-wall structures, making it ideal for clean prints on demand.
Originally showcased at the Midwest RepRap Festival, this rocket plane balances form and function. The fuselage, wings, and fins work together as one continuous perimeter loop, reducing print time and material waste while delivering a smooth, finished appearance. Choose your scale: use RocketPlaneSmall for a 2.75" version or RocketPlaneSmooth for the full 5.5" length.
Layer height and material choice affect the final aesthetic, print at .5mm for a glassy finish or .2mm for a translucent, satin look. The design has been refined through community feedback and large-scale demonstrations to ensure reliable results every time you print.
