What it does

  • Self-opening spring mechanism, no assembly or supports required
  • Print-in-place design: one print job, ready to use immediately
  • Compatible with most home 3D printers (0.3mm+ clearances)
  • Includes test piece for printer calibration
  • Perfect for organizing small items with satisfying mechanical action

This spring-loaded box is one of those cool 3D printed things that works right off the print bed. The print-in-place design means all moving parts, springs, gears, and hinges, are created in a single print job with no assembly needed. Just remove it from your printer and start using it to organize your workspace.

The clever mechanical design features a self-opening spring mechanism that pops the lid up when you release the latch. All clearances are 0.3mm or greater, making it reliable on most household 3D printers. A tuning test piece is included if you want to dial in your settings first.

This functional organizer showcases what's possible with thoughtful 3D printing design. Print it on its side with the gears facing down at 0.2mm layer height or finer, no supports required. The result is a satisfying, smooth-operating box that's as fun to use as it is practical.
