What it does
- Threads onto your Dremel spindle so you can fuse plastic parts together using friction heat, just like traditional welding.
- Works with PLA plastic to join hull sections and model assemblies, so your repairs stay strong and permanent.
- Tapered design centers automatically as you thread it on, so you spend less time adjusting and more time welding.
- Acts as both electrode and filler material, meaning you build stronger joints with proper angle and pressure control.
Weld plastic parts together on your Dremel. These tips turn your rotary tool into a friction welder, so you can join PLA panels and assemblies with heat and pressure instead of glue or fasteners.
Remove your Dremel collar and collet, then thread the tip onto the spindle until it seats fully. The tapered end guides alignment. Apply heat through friction and feed the tip like you would a welding electrode. Practice on small test panels first; once you master the angle and force, you can repair hovercraft hulls, model sections, and other plastic projects that need permanent bonds.
Works with PLA and most plastics without Teflon coating. Avoid thin walls on first tries, and build thicker sections around seam joints to prevent burn-through. Print six 20mm x 20mm x 2.54mm panels and weld them into a practice cube to build your skills.

What it is made of
Designs like this print well in PLA. Compare the materials.
Printed plastic is strong for its size, but it is not metal. We have not load tested this design, so we do not publish a weight rating. Keep it out of a hot car and away from open flame.
