What it does
- Shaped to slide inside a 1kg spool so you can check filament left at a glance
- Marked scale lines up with the spool edge so you can read weight and percent
- Sized for spools with a 200mm outer diameter and 106mm inner diameter
- Small flat tool that sits with your printing supplies so it is easy to grab
- Made to order in the USA after you place your order
Makers who load a lot of spools know the guessing game. Is there enough filament left for one more print, or should you order a fresh roll first. This filament ruler takes the guesswork out of that question. You hold it against the inside of the spool, touching the filament, and read where the outer edge lines up on the scale.
The tool is shaped to match spools with a 200mm outer diameter and a 106mm inner diameter, the common size for 1kg rolls. The printed scale shows both grams and percent, so you can see at a glance how much filament is left before you start a new job. It is a flat, simple shape that fits in a drawer or hangs near your print station.
This version is built for standard 1kg spools only. If your spools are a different size, this ruler will not read correctly, since the scale is matched to this exact spool geometry.

What it is made of
Designs like this print well in PLA. Compare the materials.
Printed plastic is strong for its size, but it is not metal. We have not load tested this design, so we do not publish a weight rating. Keep it out of a hot car and away from open flame.
