What it does

Your box cutter works again when you print this slider and locking mechanism. Instead of buying a new tool, you get the exact part you need, custom made for your cutter.
This part is tiny with tricky angles, which makes printing it hard. That's why the files come with supports built in. They break away clean, though you might sand the edges a little to get everything sliding smooth. Use ABS or PETG plastic; they have the springy strength you need. PLA gets too stiff and brittle for this job.
Every cutter brand has slightly different sizes, so you may need to scale the model up or down by a percent or two in width or depth. Print it, fit it to your cutter, and add a tiny bit of silicone grease to make it glide perfectly. The result works better than what came in the box.
