Tips for a gift photo
- Pick a bright photo with one clear subject.
- Crop in close. A face should fill most of the shape.
- Plain backgrounds look best.
- Turn the light on in the preview. If it looks dark there, it will look dark in real life too.

Questions
What is a photo lamp?
It is a thin white print with your photo carved into it. In daylight it looks like plain white plastic. Put a light behind it and your photo appears in soft light and dark. It is called a lithophane.
Does it come with a light?
No. We print the shade and you add the light. An LED tea light, a puck light or a cool LED bulb works well. Please do not use a hot bulb, because heat can soften the plastic.
Can it go straight to the person getting it?
Yes. Type their address at checkout. Shipping is a flat $7.95 to US addresses.
What is the Christmas order date?
It is our cutoff for Christmas orders, shown at the top of this page while it is open. It is not a promise from the carrier, and mail can run late in December. Order early if you can.
What if something goes wrong?
If it arrives broken, or something is wrong on our end, we reprint it or refund you. See our returns page.
What photo works best?
A bright photo with one clear subject: a face up close, a pet, or a place with strong light and shadow. Very dark photos come out dark.
What happens to my photo?
Your photo stays on your device while you crop it. When you order, we get only the light and dark of the cropped picture, which we use to print it.
