How do I resize an STL?
Quick answer

Maybe the model you found is too big for where it needs to go, or too small to be useful. Resizing a 3D file just means scaling it up or down, and it is easier than it sounds.
A file that prints the wrong size almost always comes down to one of two things: the model was designed at a different scale than you need, or the file carries no unit and got read wrong. Either way, the fix is the same: scale the whole shape by one number, evenly in every direction, so it keeps its proportions.

Find the size control under your file's measurements. It starts at 100 percent, the size the file was saved at.

Move the slider up to make the part bigger, or down to make it smaller. The measurements and the price update as you move it.

Read the new width, depth, and height before you order. That is exactly the size we print.
Resizing before you upload
If you want the file itself resized, free slicer programs like PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, and Cura all have a scale tool. Open the file, select the model, and type a percentage or an exact size, then export it again as an STL. Free online STL scaling tools work the same way, right in a browser, with nothing to install.
Either path lands in the same place: a file that is bigger or smaller than the one you started with, with its shape unchanged. Scaling a solid shape evenly never distorts it, it only changes how big it is.
Scaling one direction only
Sometimes you want a part taller without making it wider, or the other way around. That is a different kind of scaling, one number per axis instead of one number for the whole shape, and it is not something our upload tool does today. A slicer program can do it: most scale tools let you unlock the axes and type a different percentage for width, depth, and height.
Stretching a shape that way can change how it fits together, especially anywhere it needs to snap, screw, or slide into something else. Scale evenly on all axes unless you have a specific reason not to.

Our upload tool scales up to about 8.7 inches (222 mm) on the longest side, in one piece. Past that, the slider stops, and you would need to split the model into pieces or ask us about a larger order.
