How do I get a Printables model printed?
Quick answer
Open the Printables model page and use its download button to get the file yourself. Printables offers files as .stl or .3mf. Check the license shown on the page: most Printables licenses allow a personal print. Then upload the file here. We print it in the USA and ship it to you. We do not download files from Printables for customers, and we do not sell prints of other people's Printables models.

Printables is full of free designs, from replacement clips to full storage systems. A model page there is not a printer, though. If you do not have one at home, this page covers the rest of the way: getting the real file, reading what the maker allows, and having it printed.
Get the file from Printables yourself
On the model page, look for the download option. Printables gives files as .stl, as .3mf, or both, depending on what the maker uploaded. Both formats work here: an .stl is just the shape, and a .3mf can carry the shape plus some print settings the maker used.
If a model has more than one part, like a box with a lid or a multi-piece stand, the download may include a few files, one per part, or a single .3mf with all of them together. Either way, you are getting the real files straight from Printables. We do not go and get them for you.
What the license means for a personal print
Printables shows a license on every model page, and most of them are the same Creative Commons family used across the hobby: Attribution, Non Commercial, No Derivatives, and Share Alike, in different combinations.
For a print you are ordering for yourself, Attribution and Non Commercial licenses both work fine: you can have it printed, you just cannot claim you designed it, and a Non Commercial license means the part cannot be for something you plan to sell. No Derivatives means you print the design exactly as shared, with no changes to the shape first. If the page shows no license, or says all rights reserved, that design has not been cleared for printing, and you would need to ask the maker directly.
The license is the maker's decision, not ours. If you cannot tell which license applies or what it allows, tell us when you upload and we will look at it with you.

Worth knowing
What this does not cover
We do not fetch the file from Printables on your behalf, and we do not sell prints of other people's Printables models in our own shop. A free download is not the same as a guaranteed printable one: designs with thin walls, floating pieces, or tight tolerances can still fail on any printer. And a license that allows a personal print does not automatically allow selling copies of the finished part.
